One-Shots and Horror Plots

11/2/2026

More ideas than I have time to make. Thus is the struggle of human creativity or whatever.

I wish I could hire people.

But, then again, I’m kind of a tyrant with “creative control,” so solo is probably better.

Daylight’s savings has me ALL messed up. Like it does twice a year every year. I still don’t get why we’re still doing this nonsense. But enough bitching about the real world, let’s bitch about fictional worlds!

So, attached are some work-in-progress images of the forthcoming Broken Windows. I’m really excited to release it and introduce you all to Jane Bishop (left) and Tara Ritz (right). These are probably my favorite characters I’ve made since Anna Everrett and Queen Celeste VII. I also very, very much enjoy drawing them… for some reason, I couldn’t imagine why. I wanted to aim for a Thanksgiving Day release, but it looks like that might not be possible. Not to mention I’m actively swapping back and forth between this and Doomsayer and my almighty shitpost known as Thoughts & Prayers. (This week’s episode was a literal “shit” post, wasn’t it?) There’s, of course, Grimm Girls, which is still in development, but that’s to worry about next year. Now, since I’m insane, I would really like to try my hand at some one-shots next year.

So, what kind of one-shots? Well, I got about three ideas for contained stories and a concept for an “anthological” collection.

The first one that clawed it’s way into the back of my mind is kind of out of left field for me. But I was thinking about a thriller with some philosophical undertones. The working title in my head is “Absolution,” and the story is pretty simple. One guy has just had enough of this godforsaken world. His only goal? The complete and total annihilation of all life on earth - a reset to the primordial era. How will he achieve this? I dunno, hacking or something - I haven’t worked out the plot details too much, just the concept. We’d, of course, follow the guys that are trying to stop him, but I think the question posed to the reader to think about is, “are we really worth saving?” This is probably the most formed idea in my head.

As for the other two…

I really want to do one that feels like those macho 80s action movies. Y’know, Arnie, Sly, the good shit. Back when men were manly, kicking ass and taking names. I’d be aiming for a more “cinematic feel” with this one. I’d want it to feel like you took a time machine to an 1980s movie theater and you’d be seeing dudes kicking ass, without five million cuts, doing their own stunts, or fighting off monsters with wine-level aging practical effects. Dudes that are roided the fuck out, big guns, explosions, badassery all around. The action genre these days has been buried by Marvel slop. I want to bring back that R-rated ass-kicking that we’re missing these days. I mean, John Wick was awesome, but that series is over. So, there’s a hole in the market, why not fill it?

The third one I have an idea for is a horror. That’s probably about all I got for it. I mean, I did cut my teeth in social media art space as a creature designer, so why wouldn’t I make a horror? I’m not quite sure how I’d approach it, because believe it or not, I’m not a horror junkie like my creature design art would make you think. I can appreciate some classics and gems, like Alien, Event Horizon or Raw (original FR audio with EN subs, of course), but it’s honestly not a genre I consume a lot. As for comics, I mean, there’s Junji Ito and I like Kazeo Umezz, but it doesn’t always hit. I like the more psychological themes, or the weirdness in some of them, so it’d probably fall into that category.

Oh, boy, as for my anthological collection idea, well.. I was honestly thinking about an erotica collection. I always appreciated the bizarre plots and the god-tier artwork in the genre, so I always had a thought in the back of my mind about making a ridiculous, insane erotica comic. It’d help me use more unconventional plot structures and further improve my anatomy…

…

And yes, I love ass and titties, sue me. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

As for the works in progress, I am of course, constantly working on videos. A comic review should be coming out TODAY! So, keep an eye on my YouTube channel. There’s of course more viewer comics in the pipeline. I also wanted to take another swing at game reviews, so I’m actively working on getting all endings in a particularly notorious visual novel to review. I’ll give you a hint, the title of the inevitable video is what made me want to review this one - “The Disabled Girl Dating Simulator Made by 4Chan is Beautiful.” Unskippable title right? I’m sure some of you know it. Broken Windows is ongoing, just wanted to give a little preview in this week’s vlog. There’s one more WIP shot below. I’m kind of jumping between pages for these color illustrations, scaling the difficulty, which is why there are no buildings or vehicles drawn yet. God, I hate buildings and vehicles are a pain. Doomsayer - ongoing, of course. Anyone reading this whose read through Doomsayer, I’d appreciate ANY feedback on the series at all - favorite characters, hated characters, plot speculations, critiques, etc. Always looking for feedback. T&P is five weeks strong and the blog is seven weeks strong, so that’s great. Next week’s art won’t suck as much, I swear. Grimm Girls is still a thing I’m developing, but I look forward to treating the goons. I also mentioned an idea for a “cut-paper/diorama/stop-motion” kind of short film, but I think I’ll dedicate next week’s blog to it.

Anyway, hope you guys are doing well. I’ve got a LOT of comics to draw, so I’m gonna be busy for a long time. Stay tuned to the YouTube channel for today’s video and the upcoming game review. I hope my nerdy ramblings helped make your Monday suck at least 1% less, as always. Enjoy your day, friends. <3

So, these are the BW pages that have been progressed upon. It’s very time-consuming and difficult to make full color comics, but it’s rewarding when the panels come together. Can’t wait to put this series out into the world. :)
